1080p Remo is a Tamil movie created by Ajith Kumar which has been directed by Vishnuvardhan. It was released in 2006 and is a remake of the movie Thoothukudi starring Rajinikanth. The story of the movie is set in Thoothukudi, a coastal town in Tamil Nadu, India which faces impending ecological disaster due to water pollution. The film is the directorial debut of actor Ajith Kumar. The film features a stellar ensemble cast including Surya Sivakumar, Jagathy Sreekumar, Mahalakshmi Iyer and Anjali while Vishnuvardhan who also wrote the screenplay has penned an interesting script complimented by ace director Bharathiraja's cinematography and soundtrack composed by A. R. Rahman. This movie received mixed reviews from critics but was a box office success. The plot revolves around the international pressure of environmental issues on the island. There are two plots in one movie. First plot is about SOS children's charity's children's home SOS India that is faced with death by tsunami of the village which were victims of tsunami of 2004. Second plot narrates how someone can love someone of another religion, race or caste and of another gender, especially if the two are separated by language barriers. The plot of this movie is based on political problems of our country, firstly it shows how an average people feel about country politics.The first part is centred around Thoothukudi town on the east coast in Tamil Nadu, India which faces looming ecological disaster due to water pollution. It shows the pollution of sea and port as well as the water resources. The film ends with a tsunami, which is based on 2004 tsunami, destroying the village near Tuticorin. The government officials are divided over whether to move the people living in that area or not. One of them plans to ask the people to move into a new place, while another opposes this move saying that it might worsen the situation. The second part deals with a young boy Aravind (Jagathy Sreekumar) who accidentally meets Priya (Mahalaskhmi Iyer), who gets electrocuted during her performance in a music show for children held at SOS Children's Village in Thoothukudi. Aravind then befriends all the children and studies in a nearby school. Aravind's father (Rajnikanth) is an ex-army man who does not believe his son should take up such a career. This makes the elder Aravind treat Priya like his own daughter, although she is from another village and belongs to a different community. During this time, Priya also expresses her desire to meet Aravind's family and befriends them as well. The film ends with the message that both Aravind and Priya love each other and they can meet anytime after their journey through life. cfa1e77820
